Developing a Brand – Home Services Startup
The UX Challenge
Starting with a blank slate, I worked with the client to define the company’s goals, understand their target audience, analyze the competition, and help translate that into a brand strategy and digital platform for a company launch in June 2017.
The UX Approach
I worked with the client to better understand what they were looking for and what they knew about the home inspection market in the area. I explained my process, the tools I would use to gather the information we needed, and what they could expect at the end of the discovery and design phases of the project. Once we identified the brand strategy I could develop logo and website prototypes to test with users before beginning development.
Through user research, including user interviews and journey maps, I was able to create personas for the client. This allowed them to identify multiple customer profiles and better understand their target audience(s). I then utilized affinity mapping to prioritize website interface goals based on the target audience.
To better understand the industry, I performed a competitive analysis on industry websites and aligned client goals to prioritize features for the brand. View Client Presentation
Card sorting activities allowed me to develop a site map and Sketch wireframes led to user testing with an interactive InVision prototype.
